A Legacy of Excellence Since 1911

Mbarara High School stands proudly along the Mbarara–Kasese Highway at Ruharo Stage, serving Western Uganda for over a century as a centre of academic excellence, discipline, and leadership.

Founded on February 19, 1911 by the Church Missionary Society (CMS), the school began as a primary institution located at the king’s palace in Kamukuzi. Its first headteacher was J. Kironde, assisted by Rev. H. Clayton.
